The first 5 days of school (Aug.11-13, 16 & 17) are all early days for grades 1-6.  Please remember to pick up your child at 1:50/1:55.

Please note that there is no supervision on the campus until 8:15 AM.  Students will not be allowed on campus prior to that time.
Please be prompt at dismissal so that we can limit the number of students waiting for parents near the office.

Safety Notes

Students and staff are required to wear masks while indoors and recommended to wear masks outdoors.  Masks should cover the nose, mouth, and chin.  No bandanas, gaiters, or single ply face masks.  Please send extra masks to school with your child.  We will be encouraging frequent hand washing/hand sanitizing throughout the day.

Adults will not be allowed past the school gates.

Class Placements

Class lists will be posted via ParentSquare by 3:00 PM on Tuesday, August 10.  Please note that the class lists are tentative as enrollment changes daily.  It may be possible that we will need to reorganize classes due to enrollment numbers.

Teachers will be placing chairs on the blacktop at their lines to help students find their classes during the first days of school.  Yard duties will also help students find their classes.

Please notify the school office if your child will not be attending school on the first day to avoid having your child dropped from our school roster.

If your child is absent, please call the office to notify us of your absence- (408) 578-5900.
We ask that you schedule family vacations during school breaks.  Also, if possible, please schedule appointments before school, after school, or on non-school days.

Snack & Lunch

This year, all school meals are free of charge.  Your child can receive one breakfast snack and one lunch entree per day.  Snacks will be distributed at recess time.  Lunch will include 1 entree, fruit/veggie, and an optional milk.  Students can still bring their own snack and lunch if they prefer.  School lunch menus can be found on the district website.

We will seat outdoors as much as possible during lunch time and dispense hand sanitizer prior to eating.

TK & Kindergarten Orientation

We will host a virtual orientation for our TK and Kindergarten families on Monday, August 9 @ 5 PM.  Please look for the ParentSquare post with the Google Meet link information.   The orientation will cover daily routines, policies and other relevant information for your child's first weeks of school.

Return to School Orientation

We will host a virtual orientation for all new and returning families on Tuesday, August 10 @ 5 PM.  Please look for the ParentSquare post with the Google Meet link information.  I will be going over safety protocols as well as information about our school.

Drop-Off and Pick-Up Reminders

Traffic will be heavy on the first day of school.  Please walk or bike if possible.  Allow extra time the first 2 weeks for drop-off and pick-up.  Remember that Calero is a loading zone and our parking lot is closed except for handicap, buses, and staff.  Use the crosswalks.  Drive slowly around campus.  And do not park in the red zones.

Home & School Club Information

Home & School Club (HSC) is our parent fundraising group that enriches our program with assemblies, teacher supplies, technology, and more while working to promote school community through events on campus and online.  HSC will be having a direct donation drive to start the year.  Our first community event will be a Virtual Bingo Night on Friday, September 17.

All new students to the Oak Grove School District can receive a Chromebook to use during their time in the district.  At this time, all TK and Kindergarten students at Oak Ridge will keep their device at school.  All other grades, 1st-6th, please come to the office on Monday, August 9 from 1-3 or Tuesday, August 10 from 8-3 (closed at lunch from 12-1) to pick up your device.

School Supplies

Please see our website for the suggested supply donation list for your child's grade level.  We will be collecting supplies on the first day of school.  Please bring the supplies in a bag, labeled with your child's name and teacher name.  If your child cannot carry the bag to their teacher's class, we will have grade level supply drop off tables at the front of the school.  No parents are allowed beyond the gates to drop off supplies.

School & District Flyers and Forms

During the first 3 days of school, your child will be bringing home several district and school site flyers.  Please be on the lookout for these as some are time-sensitive forms that will need to be filled out and returned to school.  All emergency contact cards and emergency kits will need to be returned by Friday, August 20.

We look forward to seeing our students on Wednesday, August 11 @ 8:30 AM!
